🌿 Preparing for Your Ceremony or Retreat at Meashenu

Welcome to Meashenu, a sanctuary for healing, remembrance, and reconnection.
Participating in a sacred plant medicine ceremony is a life-changing experience. To honor this journey and ensure it unfolds in the safest, most supportive way possible, we ask all participants to prepare intentionally—physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.

Below, you’ll find essential preparation guidance, as well as two required pre-ceremony steps before attending a retreat with us.

📝 Required Steps Before Arrival

1. Pre-Ceremony Questionnaire

Filling out this form is mandatory and serves as a prerequisite for approval to participate in any ceremony with Meashenu.

The questionnaire helps us understand your intentions, health status, and prior experience so we can support your journey responsibly and safely. Please provide honest and complete answers.

Note: We cannot approve your participation without this form completed.

You can click on the images below or the buttons. Both will take you to the questionaire. There is an English and Spanish version.

2. Activity & Liability Waiver & Release

This waiver will be signed in person upon arrival at Meashenu. It affirms your informed understanding of the risks and responsibilities involved in participating in our ceremonies and on our property.

We strongly recommend that you consult a legal representative before signing, so you are fully aware of and in agreement with the terms.

🛑You will not be permitted to join any ceremony without signing this document upon arrival.

You can click on the images below or the buttons. Both will bring up the waiver. There is an English and Spanish version. This is mostly to show you the waiver before you come to the property.

📲 WhatsApp Support & Community Connection

We offer two WhatsApp group spaces to stay connected, supported, and informed:

🌱 Meashenu General Support Group

This is our ongoing community space, open to anyone who feels called to stay in touch with Meashenu. It’s a free support group where you can:

  • Ask questions at any stage of your journey

  • Receive emotional or energetic guidance

  • Stay updated on upcoming retreats, offerings, and teachings

  • Connect with a community of like-hearted beings walking a similar path

Whether you’ve sat in ceremony or are simply feeling the call, you are welcome here.

🌕 Retreat-Specific Group Chat

Once your retreat is booked, you’ll be invited to a private WhatsApp group exclusive to your ceremony group.

This is a sacred space for:

  • Introducing yourself and connecting with fellow participants

  • Sharing intentions, fears, or insights

  • Receiving preparation guidance and support from our facilitators

  • Building community and feeling held before you even arrive

Healing often begins the moment you commit to your journey—this group helps hold you through that process.

💬 Individual 1-on-1 Support

We do our best to respond personally whenever possible, but our ability to offer individual 1-on-1 support is limited due to the depth of energy required to hold these ceremonies and the number of people we serve.

We kindly ask that all general questions and support requests be shared in the WhatsApp groups, where others may also benefit from the responses.

💗 If you feel called to receive deeper individual support,
we offer private 1-on-1 sessions that can be arranged:

  • At a discounted rate if you’ve booked a retreat with us

  • Or post-retreat for continued integration, clarity, or guidance

Please reach out if you’d like to explore this option—we are here to support you in the ways we are most resourced to do so.

🧘‍♀️ Physical Preparation

To help your body align with the energetic and spiritual work of the ceremony, we ask that you follow these guidelines:

A few days to a week before:

  • Eliminate: pork & catfish

  • Abstain from: alcohol, recreational drugs, and sexual activity

  • Focus on: clean, plant-based meals

Medications:
If you are taking any medication—particularly MAOI-interacting substances such as SSRIs—it’s vital that you consult your healthcare provider. Do not discontinue prescribed medications without professional guidance. And we do not allow participants to join our ceremonies and retreats while taking these medications. It can be very dangerous.

🧠 Mental & Emotional Preparation

Intention Setting:
Reflect deeply on why you are called to this work. What are you seeking to understand, heal, or transform? Journaling and prayer are great tools for gaining clarity.

Mindfulness Practices:
Meditation, breathwork, or yoga can help you stay grounded and connected to your heart.

Digital Detox:
We recommend minimizing digital distractions, social media, and exposure to distressing content in the days leading up to your retreat.

🧳 What to Bring

To support your comfort and presence during the retreat:

  • Flashlight or headlamp (for nighttime navigation)

  • Comfortable, modest clothing for ceremonies

  • Earplugs & eye mask

  • Journal and pen

  • Any personal sacred items (e.g., crystals, talismans, photos)

🏡 Property & Community Guidelines

We are devoted to creating a container of deep safety and trust. By entering this space, you agree to uphold the following:

  • Respect & Compassion: Honor the experiences of all participants and facilitators.

  • Sexual Conduct: We enforce a zero-tolerance policy for sexual activity, flirting, or inappropriate behavior during retreats. Violations will result in immediate dismissal without refund.

  • Substance Use: Only substances provided and facilitated by Meashenu are permitted. Hapé and sacred tobacco may be used in designated areas only.

We Look Forward To Meeting You

This is more than a retreat—it’s a sacred rite of passage. Your willingness to prepare with humility and integrity helps create a transformative experience not just for yourself, but for the entire group.

We are honored to walk beside you.
